Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ's
Q. We have a ten-year-old child, are they allowed to go?

To ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable trip we ask that you only bring children that are of age four and up. Also, please keep in mind that you are responsible for your rod and reel which has a replacement cost of $100.00 should a 25 LB Nassau Grouper snatch it out of your child's hand:( Prices for children age 6 through 12 are $25.00 for a half day and $35.00 for a full day.

Q. We have never been Deep Sea Fishing Before. Will someone show us how to fish and use the equipment?

Yes- the mate is there to assist you throughout the day. He will show you how to use your rod & reel, hook your baits and some common techniques for bottom fishing. He will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

Q. What happens when we catch a fish?

When you catch your first fish, the mate will unhook your fish and put it on a numbered stringer in the fish box. Please remember your number so we know which fish are yours back at the dock.

Q. What happens to the catch at the dock?

We will call your stringer number and you may claim your catch and take them home for cleaning or we will clean and bag them for .50 per pound.

Q. Do we need a fishing license?

No, we supply your fishing license, rod, reel, bait and tackle.

Q. Do you guarantee we will catch fish?

There is a reason why they call it "Fishing" rather than "Catching Fish" ! However, we endeavor to employ the best crew in the business and they will do everything possible to ensure you have a safe, enjoyable and productive trip. We strive to earn your business and keep our customers happy so that they will return to our docks year after year.

Q. Is it customary to tip the crew? If so, how much?

Tipping should be based on the service you receive and not the fish you catch. Hey, your the fisherman (person) right!. If the answers to these following questions are YES, then it is customary to tip the crew 15% to 20% based on your satisfaction with the service they provided.

When deciding what to tip, you should consider the following:

  • Was the Crew Courteous?
  • Were they helpful throughout the day?
  • Did they answer your questions in a polite and thorough manner?
  • Were they attentive to your needs?
Reservations
  • It is highly recommended that you contact us either by phone or through this web site 2 weeks or more prior to your arrival. Admission is sold on a first come first serve basis so the earlier you book the more likely you will get the date you want to go fishing.
  • If you are traveling to Daytona Beach, please plan your fishing trip early in your vacation. In case there is a cancellation due to weather, we can reschedule you.
  • For groups of 3 or more we require a credit card deposit.
  • For private charters and special events please contact us to make arrangements.
Cancellations
  • If you cancel: If for some reason you need to cancel your trip you must do so at least 2 days in advance to receive a full refund.
  • If we cancel: If your trip is canceled due to weather or unsafe conditions as determined by the captain, we will attempt to rebook your trip or refund your money in full.
Boat Rules
  • Please help the mate keep the boat safe and shipshape by putting trash, cigarette butts, food, bait etc. in the appropriate place.
  • In other words- Treat the boat as if it were your own!
  • Please do not cut bait on any painted surface. We have knives and cutting boards located on top of the fish box located at the rear of the boat (or aft for you swabbies).
  • No firearms, drugs, glass bottles or hard alcohol allowed on board.
Recommendations
  • If you are traveling from outside of the Daytona Beach area please call us in the afternoon prior to your fishing trip to confirm your reservation. Many factors are considered the day before a trip such as weather and sea conditions that may affect your reservation.
  • It is a good idea to get plenty of rest the night before your trip. Hangovers, Summer Heat and/or Semi-Rough seas make for a very long day.
  • You will need to bring your own lunch and beverages or you may make arrangements to have something prepared for you at the Inlet Harbor Restaurant. Their hours are 11:00 A.M. till 9:00ish so please make arrangements the day before your trip.
  • Small coolers (up to 48 qt.) are allowed and must be stowed inside the cabin at all times.
  • For those of us who feel that fishing's just not right without a cold one or maybe two :<) You may bring your own beer (in cans, not bottles) but hard liquor and drugs are not allowed! (unless you are a good swimmer).
  • You may also want to bring along sunscreen, warm clothes, Dramamine (for seasickness), and hand towels. Towels are also available on board for $1.00.
  • Please wear soft soled / non-marking shoes to keep the mate happy (who gets to scrub the boat everyday.
  • If you have never been Deep Sea Fishing before, it is a good idea not to touch or handle a fish that you are not familiar with. We have very experienced mates on board to assist you throughout the day.
